The article concerns an attempt on a graphematic analysis of the biblical proper nouns from the German translation of the Acts of the Apostles of Luke the Evangelist (14th century). In the foreground there is an interpretation of the sound value of the vocalic and consonantal graphemes in the Middle High German system according to K. Lachmann. The results of the analysis are: the consonantal graphemes, which are sometimes characterized by a high variety, do not inconvenience the recipient of the text, but the graphic equivalents of the vowels are more difficult because of the lack of the conventional text signals about their pronunciation.
